On September 05, 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will be phased out over the next 6 months and come to an end on March 05, 2018.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will continue to adjudicate the following certain DACA applications on a case-by-case basis:
USCIS will reject all initial DACA applications filed after September 05, 2017.
Information about today's announcement is also available at the USCIS website.
At this time, it is unclear what, if anything, will happen beginning March 05, 2018. Our office will continue to monitor the developments and post updates. If you have a question for an Albany immigration lawyer about your DACA status or renewal eligibility, other avenues of immigration relief, or another immigration matter, please contact our office.
